Why Did the Father Pour Out the Spirit in Acts 2?

April 18, 2011

Why Did the Father Pour Out the Spirit in Acts 2:16-18?

It says He poured it out so His sons, daughters, young men, old men and servants will prophecy! (See Acts 2:17-18).

If you want to be intimate with the Lord and be in relationship with the Lord then you need to have His Spirit in you and upon you.

The Spirit of God was upon: the prophets, judges, the leaders/kings and Jesus (see 1 Sam. 5:6; Jud. 11:29; Zec. 4:6; LK 4:18).

Jesus said, will the Father “not much more clothe you, O you of little faith” (MT 6:30). But Jesus does not want you to have little faith. He wants you to have great faith and walk out demonstrating who Jesus Christ is to the world around you.

You can get the Spirit of God upon you too! It’s TRUE! My book: “Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ” teaches you to get the SPIRIT OF GOD UPON YOU. The Father in heaven wants the Spirit of God upon all His children. If you are a child of God you need to get the Spirit of God upon you in this hour.

Go Out Like Jesus Was Sent Out!

February 3, 2011

Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you….Receive the Holy Spirit”(JN 20:21).

Jesus had the Spirit upon Him (LK 4:18).

Christians need the Spirit in them and upon them so they can go out like Jesus was sent to heal the sick and drive out demons.

My book: “Transformed by the Power of God” teaches you to get the Spirit in you and upon you so you will become anointed like Jesus.

Google the Book’s Title. Get the book, and Go Out like Jesus was sent out!

Be Clothed With The Imperishable!

January 23, 2011

Paul wrote “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immorality” this saying comes true “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” We have victory over death, sin and the law through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:53-55). My book: “Transformed by the Power of God” will teach you how to be clothed in the imperishable…as you will learn to be Clothed in Jesus Christ who is eternal. Get the book, get clothed and glorify the Lord.

Put on the Full Armor of God

January 4, 2011

Paul wrote “put on the Full Armor of God…when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand…,” and “because the days are evil….be filled with the Spirit,” and Paul’s aprons healed people and drove out demons because he was Clothed in the Spirit (Eph 6:13; 5:16-18). Paul wants believers to do what I wrote in my book: “Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ.” Google the book’s title, and get the book, get clothed and walk out your birthright.

Will the Father “not much more clothe you?”

December 14, 2010

Jesus says, will the Father “not much more clothe you, oh you of little faith” (MT 6:30).

All prophets had the Spirit of the Lord upon them, including Jesus (LK 4:18).

When you have great faith and you are clothed you can walk out like Jesus did (RM 13:14).

My book: “Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ” by Neil Gilligan teaches you how to walk out in your birthright.

Transformed by the Power of God is Published

October 9, 2010

It is an awesome responsibility to get out the Word of the Lord. I believe that my book: “Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ” by neil gilligan is the Word of the Lord. It is a Kairos word, which is a word for a special season. This book shows the process the Lord took me through, as a forerunner, to encourage the rest of the body of Christ to get dressed now! We are coming into an amazing time for those of us who love the Spirit of God being in us, and now we need it outside of us, that is, the Spirit is to be upon us. Now the idea is that the ordinary believer is to be both filled and Clothed in Jesus Christ (Romans 13:14). Being clothed is having the Spirit of the Lord upon YOU (Luke 4:18). And that means it is for YOU to have the Spirit of the Lord upon you. Then you will rule and reign upon the earth.

I am continuing to write and I will submit the book: “Wake UP! Preparing for the End-Times Outpouring” which reveals another aspect of being clothed in Christ.

Are you to Rule and Reign?

August 23, 2010

My book “Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ” by Neil Gilligan is going to be published within a week or two. The website for the book is called: www.transformedbythepowerofgod.com  and on it I speak about the essence of the book’s message on the video.

Basically I believe that believers are supposed to rule and reign upon the earth at this time. In Genesis 1:28 God tells Adam to rule over the creation that lived upon the earth. Adam was naked, remember? Adam had God’s Spirit inside of him (Genesis 2:7). And Adam had God’s Spirit surrounding him (Genesis 2:25). When they were clothed in God’s Spirit they felt no shame. Why?

Well when you rule over something, it means you have power and authority over it, but human beings do not really have power over the creation, but Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14). Adam could rule over creation because he was clothed in the King–King Jesus. And he felt no shame because he was clothed in Jesus Christ’s righteousness.

I believe the Lord is calling his followers to get clothed today in His glory–the Lord Jesus Christ, so we can rule and reign upon the earth. But we can only rule and reign when Jesus is with us. We are also supposed to be clothed in Jesus Christ’s righteousness. That’s what my book will help you to do so you get dressed and you can rule and reign upon the earth in this hour and demonstrate who Jesus Christ is to the world around you.

My book: Wake Up! Preparing for the End-Times Outpouring is soon to be published and it shows why the believers have failed to learn about being clothed in Christ. But today believers need to wake up and get dressed.

 Blessings Neil

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…”

June 28, 2010

I read Luke 4:18 many times where Jesus said,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…”

I did not understand that I was supposed to have the Spirit of the Lord upon me too. But Jesus was 100% man when He lived upon the earth. He was also 100% God, but He only functioned as a man when He lived on the earth. He modeled how His followers were supposed to operate. They are all supposed to be able to say “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…”

When I finally understood that, thanks be to God, and He clothed me in Jesus Christ I was able to preach the gospel of the kingdom to the poor. I was able to see miraculous healings happen. I was able to drive out demons from the prisoners. I was able to help the broken hearted and see blind eyes healed.

My book: “Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ” will teach you how to be clothed so the Spirit of the Lord is upon you, and then you can rule and reign upon the earth.

My book is published by Destiny Image and is available September 1, 2010 from bookstores and online book stores like Amazon.com.

The Theme to be Filled by the Spirit Has Been Suppressed in Many Churches

May 9, 2010

The practice of being filled completely with the Holy Spirit had been suppressed in the majority of the Christian churches. However, one of the themes in Paul’s the letter to the Ephesians is to be filled by Christ. Look at these examples:

• Ephesians 1 says Jesus Christ is “…the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way” (Eph. 1:23).

• Ephesians 2 says that in Jesus Christ we are “being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit” (Eph. 2:22).

• Ephesians 3 tells believers to be filled “to the measure of all the fullness of God” (Eph. 3:19).

• Ephesians 4 says the saints are to attain “to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13).

• Ephesians 5 says believers are to “be filled with the Spirit” (Eph. 5:18).

• Ephesians 6 tells believers, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that…you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Eph. 6:13).

It appears as if the theme in Ephesians is that we need to do everything to stand our ground, and that is to be sure that we are filled with the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 5, the verb in the phrase, “Be filled with the Spirit,” has the meaning in Greek “to be continually filled” (Eph. 5:18). Therefore, being continually filled by the Holy Spirit is doing everything to stand our ground, which is the meaning behind Paul’s metaphor when he said to “put on the full armor of God” (Eph. 6:13).

I was not taught to be filled with the Holy Spirit in graduate school, but I was taught in the school of the Holy Spirit as the Lord wanted to transform me by the power of God.

In my book: Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ. I will teach you how to be filled and how to be clothed so you too so you can become transformed and walk out in your birthright in Christ. It will be published in September 2010 by Destiny Image.

The Reality of Abiding in Jesus Christ

March 24, 2010

Have you ever read sections of Scripture and not really understood what it meant, so you just skimmed over it in kind of a daze?

That has happened to me! I would read straight through many verses in a daze. I did this until the Holy Spirit began to teach me about some deeper truths in some well-known verses of Scripture. The first symptom that changed for me was that instead of just passing over the verse and going on, I began to be bothered in my heart and my mind about the verse I was reading. I recognized that I really did not understand what that Scripture was talking about.

It seemed as though I hardly knew anything about the Scriptures that speak of the Holy Spirit filling believers until the Holy Spirit led me through those Scriptures and guided me to ponder and meditate on them.

I was reading the gospel of John where Jesus said, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you” (John 14:20). I already understood that Jesus’ Spirit was in me, but I wondered, “How am I in Him? How is Jesus in His Father?” Then I read, “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you…” (John 15:4). The King James Version uses the term “abide.” How do you abide?

What is amazing is that “abide” was the word that the Holy Spirit began whispering into my spirit again and again during this season—abide, abide, abide. I knew the Holy Spirit was teaching me, and guiding me, but …

…“How am I to remain or abide in Jesus?” I asked myself. The Bible dictionary says that to remain means “to reside or to live in, inhabit or dwell,” and abide also means to dwell (John 15:4-5).1 I had assumed that this was only figurative language, not a reality.

But it is a  reality! We are to abide in Jesus, to live in Him and that is what I write about, and I will teach you how to do that in my book: Transformed by the Power of God: Learning to be Clothed in Jesus Christ. Published Sept 2010 by Destiny Image.
